Making Over $10 Per Day
For the last few days, I’ve averaging around $10 per day. I’m getting around 75 ebay clicks every day. I got 91 yesterday! They are paying me $.14 per click so far. Yesterday I made $5.56 in adsense.
Funny quirks…
- One of my adsense sites had 13 clicks, but only 7 page impressions! I think that means someone clicked an ad, then hit their back button, and clicked another ad, and so on. Who does that? LOL
- I THINK the majority of my ebay clicks are from a bot. The site is getting around 50-60 clicks per day, but I don’t see ANY traffic in my stats. It’s possible the statcounter was installed wrong, and so on. But from what I’m reading, it’s likely a bot. For now, no big deal. Ebay seems happy to pay me for them, anyway. But in the long run it could hurt my pay. If that starts to happen, I’ll switch out for adsense on that site. No biggie.
- One of my sites that had not recieved any traffic for 2 weeks, all of a sudden has 90 visitors in the last 2 days! Google found it!
- Here’s a good one… A lady e-mailed me via the contact form on one of sites asking for a price quote for one of “my” products! Hilarious!
- I’ve installed a handful of WPMU sites loaded with the mage plugins. If you know WPMU, and have questions, I’ll give you more info. It’s pretty neato! I might buy a really nice expired auction domain someday and use it for this purpose. Super easy.
- As much as that one site had more clicks than traffic, I have a couple other sites getting 40 hits/day, with no money-making clicks at all.
- I do really think one of my sites was banned by the Google gods. No traffic for several days, and it was getting 25/day. Interestingly, it happened the very night I took off the adsense and put up clickbank ads. Coincidence? Does Google hate clickbank? Anyone know?
- I’m now monetizing across several different networks. Just FYI.
Here’s a special tidbit for those of you who read through this entire post… If you’re thinking of buying the Mage, go get a Commission Junction Account and start applying to a bunch of merchants. I’ll tell you more in a couple days. **Hint, hint.**
Special Coupon Coming for My Subscribers
I told Greg Jacobs this morning that people are opting in to my little list here. He promised me a coupon code just for my subscribers in the near future.
So if you haven’t already bought the mage or upgraded from your free adept trial, subscribe to my list, and check your e-mails soon.
I’m Making Money Now!
I’m starting to make money, and that makes me happy! Honestly, it’s not a lot yet, but it’s more than I’ve made using other methods in the past.
- Month of October so far:
- $18.42 Adsense
- $12.88 Ebay
- $2 Amazon
And I’m really only getting maybe 60/visitors per day across all of my sites. That’s pretty good!
Sorry I’m not giving more exact numbers about traffic, but I’m only using wordpress.com stats right now, and I just don’t have time. But these are close numbers.
I have 48 sites up now! And they are still just little babies. Hopefully, Google will continue to love them as they grow. Still, only a small portion of the thousands of posts are indexed.
WP Mage Ramblings & Tips
I thought I would just ramble on this post and relay to you some of the tips I’ve learned about WPMage.
- The CPMage and WPMage packages come with the necessary plugins loaded and configured. Things like all in one seopack, wordpress stats and more. I’ve learned that I can unzip the package, and add any more plugins I want, so that every future install will also have those plugins. A nifty little timesaver if you want to customize your sites further.
- For my adsense sites, I’m following xfactor’s method of putting just one large block of adsense at the top, which is exactly how the mage installs itself. I just simply disable the sidebar adsense widget.
- I’m creating unique ebay campaigns, adsense channels and amazon tracking ID’s for each site. In addition, tracking ID’s for the CPA offers I have running.
- Greg recommends tweaking the front page with a little unique content to make it look nice in case of a manual review. I have to admit, I’m lazy, and haven’t done this. My front pages simply have an ezine article, but NO links of any kind. To do this, when I first install the site, I insert only one keyword, use no translation, don’t select any monetization methods, and pull only from ezine. After the site is installed, I go into the admin backend, and use the posting mage to load the rest of the posts with ebay, amazon, whatever.
- I did build my own “template.” It’s not a theme, but what Greg calls a “template.” The template defines the layout of the posts. So, for example the, template below is the one I’m using most often. I created it mainly so that my ebay links would display above the content. Then, amazon, then the content. These templates can be configured in any number of ways.
- {$KEYWORD}
[affmage source="ebay" results="100"]{$KEYWORD}[/affmage]
[affmage source="amazon" results="10"]{$KEYWORD}[/affmage]
[mage source="flickr"]{$KEYWORD}[/mage]
[mage source="answers" backup="article"]{$KEYWORD}[/mage]
[mage source="tags"]{$KEYWORD}[/mage] - To include a CPA offer or clickbank product on my posts, I add the code to the whydoworkadsense plugin under CODE #3. Then I change the settings to display code #3 on the pages. Done!
- I am using translation on just a few of my sites. The most readable are en|fr|en or en|es|en. Others think this makes the article 30% unique. You can translate back and forth from like 20 languages, but it becomes more awkward to read.
- Soon, I’ll experiment with creating foreign sites. With the mage, I can translate my articles to end with, say, german. I would use a german .de domain, and be sure to include my eBay Germany ID, and then I have a German site with no more effort than building my US sites. I might try this with just adsense, too. Someone said the German adsense pays nicely.
I Have 38 Sites Up Now.
I now have 38 Mages sites up now! Most of them are very recent, as in the past couple days. They really vary, as I’ve said. Some are adsense, some ebay, some cpa.
My traffic and clicks continue to increase, but the numbers are still very small. I’m thrilled, however, that they are increasing.
Thankfully, some of the sites I was able rebuild with the exact same keywords, so those sites no longer have 404’s, and I’m getting instant traffic as soon as I had them back up.
Most of my sites are still not indexed, so I’m excited to see my earning skyrocket in the next 4 weeks as my traffic is bound to increase.
I’ve now loaded all the domains I had sitting around, as well as about 10 expired domains. My next step is to buy some cheap .info’s, and load them as well. Then, as money starts rolling in, I’ll buy more aged expired domains, as recommended.
I have my sites spread out on the hosting companies I list in the sidebar. So far, so good with all of them. They are all CPanel based, and loading the full CPmage was a breeze. Well, actually, host nine, I loaded each site with WPMage, not CPMage.
Updates on My Progress and The Fire Sale
Greg had a fire sale yesterday! If you were on my subscriber list, you knew about it. He also posted it in the WF. And so far, I see lots of new Master Mages have joined us in the Mage Forum.
As for my progress, I am pleased. I made $2.70 in adsense yesterday, and had 6 epn clicks. This is still chump change, I know, but I’m more interested in the trends. I’m getting more clicks and more traffic. About 3 sites have around 500 pages indexed now. Most of my sites still have zero pages indexed. The spiders will come, it’s only been a week.
So, the trends are promising. I mean, yesterday my adsense eCPM was $27.83!
$1.28 Adsense Click Today
I got an adsense click today worth $1.28! That’s not too shabby for one click.
I don’t have much else to post. Things continue to pick up. The sites are getting more traffic. Not making big bucks yet, but it will take 3-4 weeks before the sites even have good indexing. I look for trends. And the trends are good because they continue to increase.
Curious thing about one of my sites. I was getting about 20 hits/day. It was set up with adsense. Three days ago I took off the adsense, put clickbank links up instead. Instantly it seemed, and ever since, zero traffic. What do you all think? Does Google hate clickbank ads and they deindexed me that quickly? Today I built an altar and had a burnt sacrifice to appease the Google gods that I had apparently offended.
To My Friends From the Forum..
I see my site is getting a lot of hits today so far. And I’m sure you’ll all coming from the forum where word is spreading.
Lots of folks are asking when the whole program will be available and how much it will cost. Greg hasn’t revealed all those details yet. I will tell you this, though… he has been known to give out coupon codes occasionally. I would like for you all to opt in to my list on the right sidebar, so that I can send you a coupon code if Greg makes one available to my visitors. You never know!
You should also subscribe to my RSS feed. Doing so you get notified of my new posts.
I’ll update on more of my progress with the mage later today.
My Strategies to Make Money with WPMage
Since I got the WPMage system, I’ve spent a lot of time in the forums, and learned a great deal from the kind folks there. I’ve also learned a lot from rewatching the training videos, as well as from plain ‘ole trial and error as I am rebuilding my sites.
And if there’s one thing I’ve learned from the Warrior Forum, it’s that it’s smart to have multiple income streams, and I’m applying this to the mage, as well. I’m monetizing my sites with various different methods. I also want to test and see which strategy works and pays the best.
- EPN: I’m trying hard to create most of my sites with keyword mage, which uses ebay product listings to create buying keyword-rich title and content. These sites are monetized with ebay’s EPN, quality click program. Each post has up to 100 relevant ebay listings, and I get paid for each click. Greg and the other mages agree that this type of monetization pays the best.
- Adsense: Many of the domains I had already owned and just sitting gathering dust, however, were information-based. Those are now being monetized with adsense. The keyword wizard gives me hundreds, if not thousands, of related keywords to my niche, and those become the post titles. The CPMage includes a great adsense plugin. I configure it to show only the large rectangle at the top of each post. Most of my revenue thus far has come from two of these adsense information sites.
- Clickbank: Another strategy I decided to implement last night was to use clickbank products. Again, I used one my dusty information domains, and loaded it with niche-related keywords. I then found related clickbank products, and put the link html code into a plugin. So at the top of each post on this site, the visitors see links to the clickbank sales pages. Greg doesn’t mention this method at all, I’m just trying it.
- CPA: Lastly, I loaded two of my sites with CPA offers. They are both zip submit offers on product-based keyword sites. The site is about a particular product, and the zip submit entices the visitor to get that product for completing the offer. I don’t know a lot about CPA, but I’ll give it a shot. If it performs miserably, it’s easy to remove the CPA banner, and put ebay or adsense on the site instead.
Those are the four methods I’m using to monetize my sites right now. Again, so far, the adsense is paying the best.
Getting Traffic & Clicks Again with WP Mage
Well, since my sites starting going back up again a few days ago, my traffic and clicks are coming back, thank goodness. Most are from 3 of the 10 or so sites. Those three are sending the bulk of the traffic. Most of the rest have no traffic yet. The earnings are chump change. Sadly, most of the traffic is from the formerly indexed pages, so the visitors are getting 404 errors. I’m learning how to fix those. On one of those high traffic sites, I at least put some ads on my 404 page, so they won’t be a total loss.
I still have 10 or so of my sites to recreate. I also plan to start some brand new sites with new domains from 1and1 hosting. I get some free domains with my hosting package I just bought. Those may perform better since there won’t be any 404’s at all.
Funny thing… hours after I had recreated one of my sites, I got a couple adsense clicks! Very encouraging!
